MANILA, Philippines–The debut of Jordan Heading will have to wait a little longer but that didn’t stop TNT from continuing its surge in the PBA Philippine Cup by drubbing Blackwater, 108-82, on Friday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Simon Enciso dropped 11 of his 19 points during the second quarter when the game got out of hand as the Tropang 5G won for the sixth straight time after starting the all-Filipino tournament with three straight defeats.

Veteran Kelly Williams had 15 points and seven rebounds while four others scored in double figures in the contest that served as a warmup before TNT gets to face crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra on Sunday at the same venue.

That match, the first since their seven-game showdown for the Commissioner’s Cup title, could see Heading don the TNT jersey since being acquired from Converge in exchange for the rights to Mikey Williams.

Heading had joined the Tropang 5G’s practices since the deal was given the green light by the league, and even took part in the pregame shootaround. But coach Chot Reyes said the southpaw guard is “day-to-day” due to a back problem which prevented him from playing this conference while he was still with the FiberXers.

TNT bolstered its quest to gain a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarters, needing to beat both Ginebra and Magnolia to assure itself of that position.

Christian David and rookie Sedrick Barefield scored 13 each, but the Bossing absorbed their sixth consecutive loss to fall 1-8.

Blackwater plays Terrafirma on Sunday at the same venue.
