HIGHLIGHTS: 2025 PVL Rookie Draft

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) holds the 2025 rookie draft on Sunday night at Novotel in Quezon City.

Capital1, owns the No. 1 overall pick after winning the draft lottery, and is poised to take Bella Belen out of National University. The Solar Spikers recently appointed Alas Pilipinas tactician Jorge Souza de Brito as their new head coach with veteran mentor Roger Gorayeb being moved to a consultancy role.

Belen, the three-time UAAP MVP, headlines what many believe to be a stacked rookie class that features a total of 57 aspirants.

Galeries Tower picks second, Farm Fresh at third and NXLED at fourth. Zus Coffee, Cignal, Choco Mucho, Chery Tiggo, PLDT, Akari, Petro Gazz, and Creamline are selecting their picks next in that order.

The Angels are coming off a breakthrough All-Filipino Conference championship run last April.

Thea Gagate was the top selection by ZUS Coffee in last year’s inaugural draft.

As expected, Bella Belen was the top overall pick in the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft by Capital1 on Sunday night at Novotel.

Belen, the three-time UAAP MVP out of National University, missed the draft proceedings due to her commitment with Alas Pilipinas in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup in Hanoi, Vietnam.

On AC Miner’s special day, her father, Clifford, flew from the United States to Manila to attend the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft on Sunday at Novotel.

From watching her games on his screen in Jackson, Tennessee, Clifford made sure to be with AC as she enters a new chapter of her volleyball career.
