Too old? Fiery Pacquiao says ‘I’m not done yet’

MANILA, Philippines–Manny Pacquiao hears all the mumbles surrounding his comeback.
Still driven despite having nothing left to prove, one of boxing’s greatest is keen to silence the criticisms with a throwback performance against a much younger and taller champion in Mario Barrios.

“People say I’m too old, that I’ve done it all. But I still have the fire. I’m not just fighting for myself–I’m fighting for my country, and to show the world that we Filipinos never give up,” said Pacquiao.
Returning from a four-year retirement at 46 years old, Pacquiao has the odds stacked against him in his bid to regain world champion status he had lost the last time he appeared in an official bout.
Pacquiao suffered a stunning upset against Cuba’s Yordenis Ugas in his previous fight back in August 2021.

Now he’s the clear underdog against the 30-year-old Barrios, who is staking his WBC welterweight belt.
“I’m not done yet,” Pacquiao said Tuesday.
